Recipe of Lasagna

 Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package (16 ounces) lasagna noodles
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 container (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer the mixture for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions and drain them.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the beaten eggs, ricotta cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Spread a small amount of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Layer 1/3 of the cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  • Spread 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.
  • Top the ricotta cheese mixture with 1/3 of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat the layers with another 1/3 of the lasagna noodles, the remaining ricotta cheese mixture, and another 1/3 of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Top with the remaining 1/3 of the lasagna noodles and the remaining meat sauce.
  • Sprinkle the top of the lasagna with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake the lasagna for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
