Ingredients:
- 1 pound fettuccine pasta
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan and stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Drain the cooked pasta and return it to the pot.
- Pour the Alfredo sauce over the pasta and toss until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
