 Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Spread tomato sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edge.
  • Arrange the mozzarella cheese slices on top of the sauce.
  • Sprinkle torn basil leaves over the cheese.
  • Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Drizzle the pizza with olive oil.
  • Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
