Ingredients:
- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/4 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 3/4 cups strong brewed coffee or espresso, cooled
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
- 24 ladyfingers
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, for dusting
- Fresh berries, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In another mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped cream until well combined.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the cooled coffee or espresso and coffee liqueur.
- Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure to coat both sides.
- Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the top of the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or overnight.
- Just before serving, dust the top of the Tiramisu with cocoa powder.
- Garnish with fresh berries, if desired.
