Recipe of Tiramisu

 Ingredients:

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/4 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 3/4 cups strong brewed coffee or espresso, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Fresh berries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • In another mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  • Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined.
  • Fold in the whipped cream until well combined.
  • In a shallow dish, mix together the cooled coffee or espresso and coffee liqueur.
  • Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure to coat both sides.
  • Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the top of the ladyfingers.
  • Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or overnight.
  • Just before serving, dust the top of the Tiramisu with cocoa powder.
  • Garnish with fresh berries, if desired.
