Recipe of Poha

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups poha (flattened rice flakes)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped potatoes
  • 1/2 cup frozen green peas
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions:


  1. Rinse the poha in a colander under running water until it becomes soft. Drain the water and set it aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan or wok on medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the chopped onion and green chilies and sauté for a few minutes until the onions turn translucent.
  4. Add the chopped potatoes and green peas and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly cooked.
  5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt to the pan and mix well.
  6. Add the rinsed poha to the pan and stir well until all the ingredients are well combined.
  7. Cover the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat until the poha is heated through and the vegetables are fully cooked.
  8. Add the roasted peanuts and chopped coriander leaves to the pan and mix well.
  9. Serve the hot Poha garnished with lemon wedges.
