Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup clarified butter (ghee)
- 1/2 cup powdered jaggery (or more as per your taste)
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds and cashews
- 1/4 cup desiccated coconut (optional)
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- Ghee for frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour and ghee. Mix well using your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add enough water to make a firm dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls and roll them into cylindrical shapes.
- Using a fork, prick the dough cylinders all over to avoid puffing up while frying.
- Heat ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Add the dough cylinders to the hot ghee and fry until they turn golden brown.
- Remove the fried cylinders and let them cool.
- Once cooled, blend the cylinders in a mixer to make a fine powder.
- Transfer the powdered mixture to a mixing bowl and add jaggery powder, chopped almonds and cashews, desiccated coconut, and cardamom powder. Mix well.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball using your palms.
- Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.
