 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup clarified butter (ghee)
  • 1/2 cup powdered jaggery (or more as per your taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds and cashews
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut (optional)
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • Ghee for frying

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour and ghee. Mix well using your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Add enough water to make a firm dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls and roll them into cylindrical shapes.
  • Using a fork, prick the dough cylinders all over to avoid puffing up while frying.
  • Heat ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Add the dough cylinders to the hot ghee and fry until they turn golden brown.
  • Remove the fried cylinders and let them cool.
  • Once cooled, blend the cylinders in a mixer to make a fine powder.
  • Transfer the powdered mixture to a mixing bowl and add jaggery powder, chopped almonds and cashews, desiccated coconut, and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  • Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball using your palms.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.
  • Store the Churma Ladoo in an airtight container.
Your delicious Churma Ladoo is ready! These sweet treats are perfect for festive occasions or as a snack anytime. Enjoy!
